Our Family Legacy
Five Generations of Hospitality
Our Story
Our story began in 1977 when we arrived in Marshfield to take over Westview Country Club, proudly renaming it Leffel's Westview Supper Club — known today as River's Edge Country Club. Building on that foundation, Dale and Pat followed their dream and constructed the Belvedere Supper Club in 1984 and expanded further with the addition of a banquet hall in 1988. Rooted in a rich family tradition, we represent the fourth generation of restaurateurs in our family, with our children proudly continuing that heritage as the fifth generation running various establishments.
A Legacy of Fine Dining
Perhaps you have shared a meal with us before and didn't even know it. Our family's passion for hospitality spans four generations, and along the way we have had the privilege of serving our communities through a number of beloved establishments. Throughout the years, all of our restaurants have strived to use quality products and source local vendors whenever possible, ensuring the best experience for every guest at our tables. We invite you to take a stroll down memory lane and see if any of these names bring back a fond memory or two.

The One Who Started It All
Before there were restaurants, supper clubs, or banquet halls, there was our beloved Lillian Hoefner Leffel Stewart. Lillian is the one who started it all. In the early days, she worked in the logging camps of Hurley, Wisconsin, where she fed and entertained lumber buyers on fine China right there in the logging camps. The men who came to buy logs were treated to remarkable hospitality, and Lillian had a gift for making every guest feel welcome at the table. Though the saying goes that she was a cook in the logging camps, it was well known that men were the cooks in those camps — we like to say that Lillian brought something far more special to the table. Her legacy lives on to this day in the beloved roll recipe that she passed down through the generations, still served proudly at the Belvedere Supper Club. Another family member was also a cook in a logging camp. Carl Hoernke cooked at the Sam Cook logging camp in Colby, Wisconsin.
